The main speaker is Dave Harvey, Bio of Dave Harvey:
Four Oaks Church in Tallahassee, Fl, is incredibly blessed to have a man of Dave’s background, experience, and training serving with us. While Dave has been involved in a number of national and international leadership efforts in the broader evangelical world, he is first and foremost a pastor, having served in that capacity for over 25 years. His desire to serve the local church as part of a healthy team of pastors and elders brought him to Four Oaks, where he serves as Pastor of Preaching. Dave and Kimm, his wife of 31 years, have four children and one grandchild.
Dave's primary duties at Four Oaks are preaching and teaching at the Killearn Campus, while also training and mentoring younger preachers and pastors; providing pastoral care to the Killearn Campus alongside other members of the pastoral team; providing mission-oriented leadership, organization, and initiative specifically related to multi-site expansion and church-planting initiatives; and engaging in extra-local church ministry opportunities in the service of God’s kingdom and the church at large (speaking, teaching, writing), focusing on those activities that will particularly bless Four Oaks.
Dave received a Master of Arts in Missiology from Westminster Theological Seminary in 1989, worked toward a Master of Divinity from Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1993 to 1995, and in 2001 became a graduate in Westminster’s Doctor of Ministry program. The subject of his doctoral thesis was identifying and equipping church-planting pastors. He is the author of Am I Called? The Summons to Pastoral Ministry (Crossway, 2012), Rescuing Ambition (Crossway, 2010; rescuingambition.com), and When Sinners Say “I Do”: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage (Shepherd, 2007). He contributed a chapter to Worldliness: Resisting the Seduction of a Fallen World (Crossway, 2008) and wrote a chapter for Why Small Groups?, a book from SGM’s Pursuit of Godliness series. He has been a board member of the Christian Counseling and Educational Foundation (CCEF) since 2007.
Dave joined the staff of of Covenant Fellowship Church in Glen Mills, PA in 1986, and served as senior pastor there from 1990 to 2008. In 1995, he joined the leadership team of Sovereign Grace Ministries, and began serving full-time with Sovereign Grace in 2008. While at Sovereign Grace, he was responsible for church care, church planting, and international expansion.
