Welcome to BCTC

We are a network of Nouthetic Counselors serving the Greater Phoenix area. Our mission is to encourage, acknowledge, and standardize counseling done by Christian pastors and the laity who are committed to the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as the only authoritative rule of faith and practice.

BCTC exists to equip God’s church to meet counseling-related needs. We do this primarily through our training programs which are designed to prepare pastors and others to counsel within the framework and under the authority of the local church or church-related organizations such as Christian schools, mission agencies, crisis counseling ministries, etc.

BCTC programs are skill-enhancing and are not designed to meet state certification requirement for psychologist, marriage and family therapists, guidance counselors or other licensing or certifying groups. We believe the necessary reform in counseling must occur at the grassroots level of the church, not through the state.

Our theological point of view is fully committed to the world view that the Scriptures are completely sufficient and, either directly or in principle speak to all areas of life.
